Fabio Aurelio will reportedly leave Liverpool and return to South America when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Brazilian left-back Aurelio has made only two appearances so far this season for Liverpool, with manager Kenny Dalglish preferring Jose Enrique and Glen Johnson at fullback.
Reports claim there have been no talks regarding a new deal and, with youngsters Jack Robinson and Jon Flanagan highly regarded by the club, Aurelio is believed to be considered surplus to requirements.
If Aurelio does move on later this year, it will be the second time he has departed Anfield on a free transfer.
The 32-year-old left Merseyside after the 2009/10 season when his previous deal expired, but returned only two months later when Roy Hodgson took charge of the club.
Despite the reports his Liverpool career is set to end once again, Aurelio said he is focused on forcing his way back into first-team contention.
I am feeling good, Aurelio told the Liverpool Echo.
I am enjoying the training sessions every day and improving. I am available and waiting for an opportunity to get on the pitch again.
It s up to the manager to decide who is involved in each match, but my aim is to be available as much as possible and see what his thoughts are.
The former Sao Paulo player has made a total of 133 appearances for Liverpool across his two spells.
