The Brazilian attacker has enjoyed a close relationship with Klopp since the German s arrival at Anfield in October 2015.

And he is keen to take the next step in his career under the 49-year-old, who played a key role in the development of stars such as Robert Lewandowski, Mario Gotze and Marco Reus at Borussia Dortmund.

I played against Klopp s teams for four-and-a-half years [in the Bundesliga], former Hoffenheim forward Firmino told The Daily Mail.

I know what he wants from a player. When I heard that he was coming to be Liverpool manager, I was so pleased. I could not have been happier. I knew what h…

Southampton terminate Osvaldo contract

Southampton have terminated the contract of striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo.

Osvaldo joined the Premier League club from Roma in a club-record move in August 2013, but proved to be a disruptive influence during his time on the south coast.

The Italy international was suspended for three games for a touchline fracas with Newcastle United s goalkeeping coach in December 2013 before being banned by the club following a training-ground incident.

Ex-Roma forward Osvaldo was then loaned to Juventus for the rest of that campaign and spent the 2014-15 season on loan at Inter and Argentinian side Boca Juniors.

And he is now free to move on permanently, ending an underwhelming stint with Southampton in which he scored three goals in just 13 appearances.

Mario has an ongoing contract with BVB and he s feeling very well at the club and in this city. There are no signs that this will change any time soon, Dortmund s sports manager told Bild.

Mario is an extraordinary player and he s still only 20. He has plenty of room for improvement.

Zorc then went on to discuss the situation of Nuri Sahin at Liverpool, and stated that a January move is out of the question for now.

Nuri is one of ours and we re closely monitori…

Prediction: Monza vs Inter Milan

Best Odds: 19/20

Bookmaker:

Hoping to extend their buffer at the top of the Serie A table, Inter Milan will travel to the Stadio Brianteo on Saturday night when they meet Monza.

Monza

Starting with the hosts, while Monza might still be dreaming of the chance to book a top-half finish this season, Raffaele Palladino’s side have largely struggled with their consistency. Although the Biancorossi might have opened the New Year with an action-packed 3-2 victory away at Frosinone, that was just the second win that the Lombardy-based outfit have collected from their previous eight Serie A appearances. With that run stemming all the way back to November 5th, Monza have also failed to secure back-to-back domestic victories since the start of October. Hit with a 2-0 de…

Hoeness rubbishes Bayern exit rumours; Ibrahim attracting BPL interest

Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has rubbished reports suggesting that Arjen Robben, Toni Kroos and Thomas Muller could all leave the Allianz Arena in the summer, .

According to former Bayern Munich manager Ottmar Hitzfeld, the likes of Kroos, Muller and Robben could be seen as surplus to requirements by incoming Bavarian boss Pep Guardiola.

I reckon Robben will leave Bayern in the summer, said Hitzfeld.

Muller is a very important player for Bayern. But if he fits into Guardiola s concept, you don t really know. He is a straight-line player and not exactly a silky-skilled player, added the former Germany international striker.

And it remains to be seen if Guardiola does not want a more dangerous player than Kroos in central midfield.…
